One of the first things that hit me about owning dogs was the expense and the sheer terror when something goes wrong. Though you hope your dog understands your every word there is little we can do, that we understand, that can help the dog.

Both my dogs, and I think this is the same for most, suffered from terrible dog infections of the ear. It cost the dogs a lot of pain and discomfort and it cost me a lot of time and money. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to spend whatever is necessary for my dogs but when you see the terror in their faces when they go to the vets, it’s real easy to question it!

I decided to look for natural and holistic cures after one of my dogs got quite ill through the antibiotics prescribed to him. To cut a long story short I befriended a vet and asked him what he thought. Well to say my eyes were opened was an understatement. The very ear drops I was sold by my vet could be made in my kitchen and there were a whole bunch of home remedies he recommended that are natural and far more effective than antibiotics-not to mention far less damaging to our pets.

Sadly last year my friends dog was hit by a car and was knocked unconscious. There was no ambulance or ambulance driver, he was that person and he panicked and worried over how to revive the poor dog. By the time the shock of not knowing what to do had passed and he jumped in the car with the dog, it was too late. I’m so sorry for bringing the harsh realty of this home but it’s deadly important. If your dog is hurt often time YOU are the vet, the ambulance driver and everyone else until you get the dog to the vet. Dogs hurt in accidents survive far less than humans for this reason only.

I therefore decided to find the information I needed to be “qualified” in this sort of situation. This is vitally important information for ALL dog owners.
